Go Birding in Southwest Florida
The Caloosa Bird Club has been birding in Southwest Florida since 1958 and welcomes everyone who is interested in watching and learning about Southwest Florida's birds. Beginning birders are welcome! We are a friendly, welcoming group of both veteran and novice birders.
Bird Walks🔗
Please join us on any of our bird walks lead by experienced birders. See the Events and Field Trip Overviews menus for more details.
Meetings🔗
Attend one of our monthly meetings which are held on a Sunday afternoon during the months of November through April at the Wa-Ke Hatchee recreation center. See the Events tab for dates and times. Our meetings are a great opportunity to meet other birders and learn from our interesting speakers (see Upcoming Speakers for more details).
Christmas Bird Count
On a Monday in December, the club conducts a Christmas Bird Count for the National Audubon Society. The club's circle, centered in southern Cape Coral, radiates 15 miles to portions of Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Pine Island. Charlie Ewell is the Christmas Bird Count Chair.
Membership
Prospective members need to attend one general meeting and participate in two field trips. So come to one of our bird walks and check it out! If you want to become a member of the Caloosa Bird Club, please download a copy of the membership application and submit it after your membership requirements have been met. Bring the completed application along with the initiation fee and dues payment to one of our meetings (look for our Membership Chair Elle O'Neill). New members pay a $15 initiation fee and annual dues are $20 per year sent to the club Treasurer.
